First things first: Hilary decided to trust Jesus as Lord of her life! Pray that she continues to experience the peace and joy of being His daughter. Ask that the baby-steps she takes will give her habits that will create a lifestyle of obedience. Pray that her little light in this dark place shines brightly. Ask that I have wisdom in how to encourage and edify her!
CHRISTMAS! We had a really wonderful Christmas. There were some sad moments: really missing family and stress in our city. But, for the most part it was full of fun and laughter, gifts and joy. We had two Christmas parties with our national friends. At each we were able to share the Christmas story and our testimonies and give away copies of Luke and Acts. Ask that the seeds that were planted will fall on fertile soil! Also pray for direction for us on how to follow up with the people we shared with. On Christmas Eve we began a tradition of eating at Pizza Hut! YUM! Yes, we have a Pizza Hut in our city. They don't deliver and are more like a sit-down five star restaurant than those in the states, but the supreme pizza is delicious! Christmas morning was action packed watching our sweet 18 month old open presents and show family on video chat every gift that was opened. We joined our friends here for an awesome meal and then an afternoon of wii and an evening of Christmas movies and second helpings of our delicious meal.
So I have a funny story to share. It has a little bit to do with our theme of time flying by. My mom and I are able to talk most days either on the phone or the computer. About a week and a half ago we were on the phone and my mom kept mentioning how we had spoken last night. Now, I was certain that we hadn't spoken last night. We kept going back and forth both certain we were right about how the events had played out and suddenly we realized. We were talking about completely different times and we were both completely right even though what we were saying was completely conflicting with what the other was saying! HA! Let me explain a bit more so you're not left spinning. When I wake up in the morning my mom is about to go to bed. See the confusion. We had spoken last night for her, but it was two days ago for me because we were talking in the morning of the next day my time. Anyway, we're nearly three months into this different time zone and still have goofy mix-ups. Funny.
Happy New Year!
Kari
